Better Jobs Ontario Program Highlights

Skills Training: Gain the skills necessary for in-demand jobs.

Financial Support: Apply for up to $28,000 to cover expenses such as tuition, books, transportation, and a basic living allowance of up to $500 per week.

Additional Funding: You may also qualify for funding to cover childcare, disability support, and language training.

Quick Training Options: The program focuses on training opportunities that last 52 weeks or less, including micro-credential programs, to help you reenter the workforce quickly.

Better Jobs Ontario Program Eligibility

You can qualify for Better Jobs Ontario if you meet either of the following conditions:

  • You have been laid off or are working in a temporary job just to cover costs.
  • You have been unemployed for six months or longer and are in a low-income household.

Additionally, you may qualify if you receive Employment Insurance, Ontario Works, or Ontario Disability Support.

  • Contact IIT: Reach out to an IIT Student Counsellor to discuss program options.

    Meet Employment Ontario: Schedule an appointment with an Employment Ontario counsellor to assess your eligibility for funding.

    Research Programs: Explore three college programs of your choice, including an IIT program, and complete the financial assistance application.

    Submit Documents: Submit all required documents through your Employment Ontario counsellor.

    Begin Your Program: Once approved, start your program at IIT!
